Norway has during the last 40+ years become an important oil and gas supplier. The remaining Norwegian oil reserves represent 0.4 per cent of the World's total proven reserves. Norwegian gas reserves are about 1 per cent of the world total

Norwegian oil production peaked in 2001 with 3.4 million barrels of oil per day. Using only 5 percent of it's own production, Norway was then the third largest oil exporter in the World. With regards to gas; Norway contributes to 2 percent of the World's gas production and is also one of the 5 largest gas producing nations.
