Stavanger has hosted the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball FIVB World Tour Grand Slam many times - last in 2011. Now, after a two year break, Stavanger will again host the tournament (June 24 - 29, 2014).

The  tournament will be held in the bay area in the city center. Tons of sand will be brought into town and the quayside will be turned into a beach area! The main court in 2014 will be placed next to the new concert hall.

Stavanger, with only 130,000 inhabitants is in good company. Berlin, Moscow, London, Los Angeles and Shanghai will also be hosts for the 2014 tournament. 

Nearly 200.000 people have joined previous events in Stavanger harbour!

The main court in 2006 seated 4.300 spectators. The event was broadcasted on both Norwegian national television and Eurosport. The main court in 2014 will be next to the new Concert hall From one the mens quarterfinals - Italy in blue vs Brazil.

Close to 200.000 joined in on the event in Stavanger harbour in 2006. As often before, the weather was fantastic with over 20 degrees C and plenty of sun.
